What your plan allows
Defining columns manually is free. Running extraction and “Suggest columns (AI)” are paid. On the free plan, you fill in the table manually and can still export it. Running extraction also requires a verified email from the first attempt. “Suggest columns (AI)” is included in the trial calls available before verification.
Conservative principle
If information does not appear in the available text, revisia writes “Not reported”. It never invents a value to fill a gap.
Define the columns
- Create one column per item. Give it a name and specific extraction instructions.
- Choose the structure. It can be “Free text”, “Closed options” (between 2 and 12 possible values), or “Yes / No / Maybe”.
- Use suggestions if useful. “Suggest columns (AI)” proposes extractable fields. You confirm each one.
- Check that the text can answer. Sample size, design, population, measurement instrument or duration usually work well when reported.
Run and review extraction
- Click “Run extraction”. The table is filled for every included study.
- Open the evidence. Every cited value links to its quotation and states whether it comes from the title, abstract or full text. Values without a quotation are marked “no citation”.
- Jump to the PDF when available. “Open PDF (page N)” opens the relevant page and highlights the sentence for quick checking.
- Resolve “verify” labels. They mean the system could not automatically confirm the quotation. Compare it with the text before accepting the value.
- Export whenever you want. The complete table is always available as CSV.
Troubleshooting
- Extraction will not start. Finish screening first. You need included studies and at least one column.
- Many cells say “Not reported”. This is not an error. The information does not appear in the available text.
- I see “verify”. Open the study and confirm the value manually.
- Extraction ended with an error. Run it again. Completed cells are not processed again and do not consume more allowance.
